Backcountry
You've already decided to head on out to the middle of the Rockies to a destination further from it all than most mountain getaways...now you can go even further! If you really want to see what the region has to offer, we recommend taking a few days away from the ski resorts and exploring the less travelled areas of our paradise. more info
With two National Parks and the surrounding National Forests, you are sure to be able to find the solitude and inspiration that you area looking for. You can head out on a guided tour that will allow you to run your own dog sled team, snowshoe into hidden treasures with locals or climb the peaks that draw so many each season. Or, rent your own gear and take off on a yurt trip for a night or two. Many will also find out that Teton Pass has an allure all its own for those seeking deep powder turns without the crowds. Yet, be sure that you are up for the challenges that the backcountry has to offer. Know your limits and don't be afraid to gather necessary knowledge at local shops before you go!
