Granite Hot Springs
While Yellowstone abounds with hot springs, the opportunity to take a plunge in one of them is not an option. Not only are most too hot, but swimming in them is illegal. So if you crave a dip in a 110-degree pool in the great outdoors, then head to Granite Hot Springs. A scenic ride south of Jackson Hole making a left at Hoback Junction and proceeding another 10-20 minutes brings you to the start of a fun ride by dogsled or snowmobile (or cross country skiing for the adventurous). Sheer granite cliffs tower thousands of feet overhead, on either side of this beautiful canyon. The hot spring is developed with a changing facility and bathroom facilities. The dog sled and snowmobile tours to the springs often serve lunches while clients soak in the majestic pools. There is ample parking for those who have their own snowmobiles or have rented some for the day, and the trail is groomed regularly. If you are not part of a tour, there is a fee for swimming upon reaching the pool, so don't forget your wallet.

Unlike in Yellowstone park, snowmobiles can go off trail and romp in the powder fields that the area offers. This would be a good break-in for those who want to kick it up a notch on the snowmobile learning curve.

Huckleberry Hot Springs
If an undeveloped hot springs experience interests you, try snowshoeing to Huckleberry Hot Springs just south of Yellowstone National Park for a remote natural experience. Often accompanied by wild bison relaxing by the pools, this can be a unique experience in nature.

Park at Flagg Ranch, north of Jackson Hole, before the entrance to Yellowstone Park. The snowshoe tour is novice to moderate, but takes you along the Snake River and into beautiful wooded meadows before reaching the springs. Remember there are no facilities here and it is very important to disturb the natural environment as little as possible. Do not leave trash or any trace that you visited other than your footprints in the snow and the memories you'll have forever.

The Wort Hotel - On the Town Square - Walking distance to Jackson's shops, dining & galleries, this luxury hotel was one of the town's first. Lively bar, elegant restaurant, comfortable & quiet rooms.
