Wilderness Outfitters

weather yellow pages print

You've already decided to head on out to the middle of the Rockies to a destination further from it all than most mountain getaways...now you can go even further! If you really want to see what the region has to offer, we recommend taking a few days away from the ski resorts and exploring the less travelled areas of our paradise.

With two National Parks and the surrounding National Forests, you are sure to be able to find the solitude and inspiration that you are looking for. You can head out with one of the many wilderness outfitters or guides, that offer a chance to run your own dog sled team, snowshoe into hidden treasures with locals or climb the peaks that draw so many each season. You can even take off for a few nights to a backcountry yurt for an incredible experience and great skiing. When in a new area, it's always a good idea to go with someone who is knowledgeable about the area and it's hazards. Winters are extreme in Jackson so enjoy them while also being safe. Know your limits and don't be afraid to hire a guide for you outing.

Jackson Hole Iditarod Sled Dog Tours - Each trip with Jackson Hole Iditarod Sled Dog Tours is a scenic, warm ride in a modern sled. Our musher-guides are always alert, willing and eager to point out wildlife: deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, bald eagles, and points of interest. You can run the team yourself.
